title In the forest the staff lies
Untouched for years
Unseen by eyes
Until one day
When fate behold
The staff enslaved a mortal soul
Burning towns and taking lives
Bringing sorrow
Forcing cries
A girl shall seek a captive friend
To bring the evil to an end

If I read one more Role Playing Game blurb about Dondi's epic quest for the Frommitz of Dendor, I'll scratch my own eyes out. Epic? Really? Not a one of them explicitly invokes a Muse, not that I've seen. I mean sure, you could play Monster RPG 2 for more than 24 hours straight and still not be done, but it's no Prose Edda.

Look, if you got this far, you already know what you want to know, which is it's a damn good role-playing game with weapons, and magic, and leveling up, and tactical combat and, yes, as the name implies, Monsters. It doesn't cure cancer, but it does let you fight evil and loot bodies on the subway without having to talk to the transit authority police. It's got some nice art, and pleasant music, and a storyline where everything makes sense. There are logic puzzles and strategic combat scenarios and dexterity-based puzzles, a lot of worlds to explore and huge numbers of monsters to hunt (hopefully) to extinction. Yours or theirs. If that's what you want, that's great for us, because that's Monster RPG 2.

And if you want to play your own songs instead of the music we made especially for you (sniff!), you can listen to Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant over 80 times and still not be done with the game. Go ahead, we won't tell anyone.
